Elbow, Hand & Wrist Pain
Overview

What is joint pain?

Pain in the arm and hand usually comes from tendons at the elbow, a compressed nerve at the wrist, or arthritis at the base of the thumb — and each needs a completely different treatment.

Ultrasound lets us see the tendon and nerve directly, so treatment goes exactly where the problem is.

Common symptoms

  • Pain on the outside or inside of the elbow when gripping
  • Night-time numbness and tingling in the fingers
  • Weak grip, dropping objects
  • Pain at the base of the thumb when pinching
  • Swelling or clicking in a finger tendon

What causes it

  • Tennis and golfer's elbow tendinopathy
  • Carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve compression
  • Thumb base (CMC) osteoarthritis
  • De Quervain's and trigger finger tenosynovitis
  • Repetitive strain from work or sport
